Moving Margin Master
To transfer your registration to a new computer go to the main menu of Margin Master. Click on the tools menu & choose the product registration option. Once this has opened click on the options menu & chose delete registration. Margin Master will prompt you to be sure that this is what you want to do, choose yes. Once it says it has been deleted, close Margin Master on this computer. If Margin Master is already downloaded on the new computer, go ahead & open the program. This will transfer the registration. To move it back you follow the same steps as above.
To download the program on the new PC go to our website www.retailersoft.com /our products/margin master/downloads & download the program. If you are a Vista user you will want to save it rather than download. Then you will want to make sure you run the program as an administrator & make sure it is in XP compatibility. To do this you would right click on the Margin Master Icon, & go to the properties option. There will be a compatibility tab & just make sure the check box in front of XP compatibility is checked.
To transfer the strategy, you literally need to copy the pricing strategy file from one computer to another. You can do this with a CD, a thumb drive, or even email – if it resides on both computers with 2 different email addresses.
The pricing strategy is located on the C: drive in the folder called Margin Master. When you click on that folder you will see the database, the report files, the strategy, etc. The strategy will be named xxxx –PS, (where xxxx represents your store number). That strategy file needs to be copied from that PC and placed in the exact same location (C:/MarginMaster) on the other PC.
