Exporting MM Data
Margin Master exports data in several ways. Any of the data listed in the center viewling area of the screen can be exported to Microsoft Excel as a worksheet.
For exporting price changes from Margin Master to Paladin, Margin Master creates a custom export file that is designed to work specifically with the Paladin POS System. Paladin has a data import utility capable of importing TAB delimited text files. When you are ready to export price changes from Margin Master to Palidin, Margin Master creates the file and stores it by default in C:\MarginMaster. The file name is NEWRETAILS.TXT. The NEWRETAILS.TXT file contains the following columns:
PARTNUMBER PLVL_PRICE1 PRINTBINTAGLATER
The PARTNUMBER coresponds to the SKU in Margin Master. The PLVL_PRICE! correspondes to the Future Price in Margin Master. The PRINTBINTAGLATER column is used to indicate that this price record will be placed on hold so printing and activation can occur at a later time.
From Margin Master:
- Create price changes and have them displayed in the center of the screen
- Click the Printer Button
- Choose Text File
- Click Export
You will receive a message that says your prices have been exported to the file "newretails.txt".
Open Paladin:
- Open Paladin
- Open the "Maintain" option
- Open the "Data Viewer" option
- Choose the "Inventory" option
- Click the "Load File" button
- Browse to the C:\MarginMaster folder, and select the "newretails.txt" file
- Make sure "Active Inventory" is selected
- Make sure the checkbox next to "update existing items" is checked
- Click the "Import" button
- A white window should appear indicating that it has successfully imported the number of price changes that you exported from Margin Master
