FTP Access
If you have recently upgraded to an Activant version 14 or higher and are now unable to connect when trying to transfer your reports in Margin Master, please complete the following steps.
Method 1 (Recommended)
Adjust the settings in the Margin Master FTP Screen used to connect to the Activant System. Make sure the following settings are in place.
Report Directory - /u1/SPL/ User Name – test Password – 'wdm<,
Yes - the password is 6 characters including an apostrope and a comma
Alternate Method - Using Network Access
At the Function Screen, type OSPREY and hit enter.
- You will be prompted for a password – enter AVATAR and hit enter.
- A Main Menu will appear – at the Selection prompt, type EDITFTP and hit enter.
- At Action, type E and hit enter
- A large list off passwords will appear along the left side of the screen. With your down arrow, scroll through the passwords and place your cursor in the word OSPREY.
- Hit F6 to delete the password (Don’t worry, it does not remove any OSPREY Functions).
- Hit Escape
- You will be asked if you want to save your changes, hit Enter to accept the changes.
- Hit enter again to save the default file name/location.
- Hit Enter one more time to complete the entry.
Go back into Margin Master, click on the Import Data Button, and then on Download Activant Files. Once in the FTP screen, make sure your Server IP address is still there, and click the Connect Button. Your reports should now appear on the right hand side of the screen. Complete the transfer process as usual.
Note: If your Server IP address is blank or you are unable to connect using the Margin Master FTP screen, open Network Access and you will find the address at the top of the Function Screen in the Window Title Bar. Enter the IP address in the Margin Master FTP Screen and click Connect. |
